Been a while since I posted a sermon. This past Sunday I preached and had time on Monday to convert it into a digital format and upload it. That means I can post another sermon. This one deals with the sleeping church, why we are sleeping, and how we might wake up.

Youth Sunday preachifying

So last Sunday was Youth Sunday and I got both services, which is pretty frigintastic. I am not a glory hog so I totally opened the evening service up for one of my Youth. She has spoken before but I was not able to be there because of a funeral in another state but I heard good things. Let me say she rocked the house and has some great stuff you need to hear.

Now about the morning sermon. I drank Monster instead of water. I was told that I was quite a bit more hyper but I really don't believe it. I'm pretty energetic normally so I didn't notice much difference between this sermon and others that I have preached. Sure I did some voices but they were actually calm. Yes I did speak quickly but we had done a bunch of fun stuff and I needed to cover a lot so I had to speak quickly. I'll let you be the judge. Listen to this and another sermon I preached then say if I seemed more up than last time.

The sermon itself is about the problem with speaking death and how Christ called us to something more.

Speak Life

Now the other sermon is from a 14 year old girl. She is pretty on top of things and I tried very hard not to tell her what to say. She has had no formal training and is a little rough for it but I have to say that this is some great stuff that everyone needs to hear. Seriously this is why I work with teens. I wrap it up and put a bow on it because she didn't quite get how the make the call to action, but other than that she really rocked it fan-frigintastic.

Don't forget to tell me what you think. For more details on the services check Canon Run and Battle of the Generations: AKA Youth Rule.

Asking the Right Questions

This sermon is from James 4:1-11. Lots of people are familiar with parts of the passage but almost every time I hear it preached they pull it to pieces. People talk about quarreling and such or talk about praying, but I find it particularly interesting that James puts the verse "You don't have because you don't ask and when you do as you are with the wrong motives wanted to have for yourself." (NTGV) right in the middle of a discourse on quarreling so it seems to me that these thoughts are intertwined.

Give it a listen to find out why we should all be working together and how we can be more effective by asking the right questions.

Ditch the Stress

OK, I've been having some trouble uploading my sermons and I just figured out that I am an idiot. I forgot to convert the wav file to an MP3. I run everything through my audio program in lossless format which saves it as a wav file. This lets us get the best quality audio on the CDs. In fact I have to muddy them just a smidge because some of our people are audiophiles and they say the sound is too "crisp." Anyways, this format has been making it impossible for me to upload new sermons and I just haven't had the time to figure out what I've been doing wrong. I'm a total moron sometimes.

Anywho, this sermon is called Ditch the Stress and is about what causes stress, how it affects you, and most importantly how to Ditch the Stress. Give me some feedback on it because I have a lot of control on how this guy preaches.

Ditch the Stress

If you click on it you should be able to download the file. This is the first time I've done a direct link so I don't know how it works.

*Keeps fingers crossed*

Some Sermons

OK so here are some sermons.

Content Management System by Ekklesia360

This blog is to broadcast sermons. One of my responsibilities is to handle the CD ministry of the church and I'm moving forward into digital. We don't have our church website up yet, another thing on my list of things to do, but I wanted to get a few of the sermons up now.

I didn't preach most of them just so you know.
